Thank you for visiting Corvedale Church of England (aided) Primary School web site. We hope that the information and content on this site will give you an overview into the life and work of our school.
Corvedale C of E Primary School is a smaller than average village school, situated in the heart of the picturesque Corvedale in the village of Diddlebury, Shrophshire, between the historic towns of Ludlow and Much Wenlock. We cater for children from 4 to 11 years of age. Most children travel from a wide catchment area, with families choosing our school because children receive good and outstanding teaching and learning, supported by an exciting curriculum in a fabulous environment.
Corvedale is a Voluntary Aided school; it represents a partnership between Shropshire Council and the Diocese of Hereford, and representatives of both are on the Governing Body. The school enjoys links with the parish churches in Diddlebury, Munslow Culmington and Stanton Lacy. All children are given the opportunity to develop an understanding of the Christian faith in practice, plus developing an understanding and respect for other faiths and beliefs.
Corvedale is a caring school, with a team of dedicated professionals which is here to ensure that the children get the most from their education. Our school motto is "Love Learning Love Life". Every member of staff is committed to providing the children with a happy, well-disciplined environment where the children can make the most of every learning opportunity offered to them. We aim to be a school where all the children are inspired to see learning as a lifelong experience, thus empowering them to make good choices in later life.
Everyone at Corvedale is immensely proud of our school. It was rated 'Good' by Ofsted following their Inspectors’ visit in June 2014.
Comments from the inspector include:
‘Teaching is good. Teachers check carefully what pupils already know and plan interesting activities to support their learning well.’
'Pupils … greatly enjoy the range of exciting learning activities and the sports and clubs outside lessons.’
‘The behaviour of pupils is good. Their positive attitudes help them to make good progress. They concentrate on their work, persevere when they find difficulties, and do their best in all lessons.’
